Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, and fostering a positive environment for those in your care. This position requires a commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Schedule 1:

  • Tuesday: 11:00pm-9:00am
  • Wednesday: 11:00pm-9:00am
  • Friday: 11:00pm-9:00am
  • Sunday: 11:00pm-9:00am

Schedule 2:

  • Monday: 9pm-9:00am
  • Thursday: 9:00pm-9:00am
  • Saturday: 9:00pm-9:00am

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall health status.
  • Provide personal care and support in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each resident.
  • Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive engagement.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Support individuals in community integration and participation in social activities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for residents.

Skills

  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience in group homes or assisted living environments is highly valued.
  • Strong patient observation skills to monitor changes in behavior or health status.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting residents with mobility needs (e.g., using Hoyer lifts).
  • Proficient in meal preparation and cooking for diverse dietary needs.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.

Job Type: Full-time
