Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at DEBO. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in their daily activities and promoting their independence. Your commitment to care and understanding of individual needs will be crucial in fostering a safe and supportive environment.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as incontenience, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure the well-being of individuals in your care.
  • Implement care plans tailored to each participant's needs, including medication administration and vital signs monitoring.
  • Support clients with mobility challenges, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Support participants to maintain cleanliness and organization in living spaces to promote a healthy environment.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that enhance their quality of life, including social interaction and community outings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and service coordinators to ensure comprehensive care for each individual.
  • Document observations and report any changes in client behavior or condition following HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

  • 1 year of previous experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care is preferred.
  • Familiarity with caregiving techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR / 10-hour Medication Aide License.
  • 19 years of age or older.
  • Insured and Valid Driver's License.
  • Federal and State Background Checks.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Flexible Scheduling.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility needs.
  • Knowledge of participant care practices including medication administration and vital sign monitoring is beneficial.
