Are you a culinary leader with a passion for plant-based cuisine? Fifth House is a new, vegan restaurant preparing for our grand opening, and we are seeking a dynamic Executive Sous Chef to be a foundational pillar of our kitchen.

We are looking for a hands-on leader to partner with our Executive Chef, mentor a new team, and execute an innovative, plant-based menu to perfection. If you thrive in a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead & Inspire: Act as the second-in-command, managing, training, and mentoring our team of Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Dishwashers to foster a positive and high-performance culture.
  • Drive Culinary Excellence: Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef on menu development, recipe testing, and special event planning.
  • Run the Line: Command the "front lines" during service, expediting, and ensuring every dish meets our highest standards for quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Manage Operations: Take charge of kitchen operations in the Executive Chef's absence. Assist with inventory, ordering, scheduling, and controlling food costs.
  • Champion Safety: Uphold impeccable standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen organization, ensuring full compliance with all health regulations.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven Culinary Leadership: You are a seasoned professional with significant experience (e.g., 3-5+ years) in a management role (Sous Chef, Exec Sous, or similar) within a high-volume, scratch-kitchen.
  • A Passion for Plant-Based Food: You have a genuine passion for and some knowledge of vegan/plant-based cooking techniques. Experience in upscale, fine-dining and/or plant-based cuisine is a major plus.
  • Grace Under Pressure: You are a "speed and focus" expert who thrives in the heat of a busy kitchen. You remain calm, organized, and focused, especially during a grand opening.
  • A True Team Player: You are an excellent communicator and a natural mentor who loves working with a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Commitment to Quality: You have an unwavering eye for detail and a commitment to creating high-quality, memorable, and "incredible dining experiences" for our guests.
