Summary/Objective:
This position is responsible for managing broadcast technology systems and digital content at the Target Center and the Mayo Clinic Square offices for the MN Timberwolves and Lynx. You will provide content scripting, scheduling and event planning services for Daktronics, Cisco Vision, and the RF channel lineup. You will assist with maintenance, tech operations planning, event support, equipment maintenance, and documentation for systems including Ross (Xpression, Acuity, Mira), Daktronics, Evertz, RTS intercom, broadcast cameras and broadcast video equipment. For this position we are seeking someone with strong detail orientation, excellent work ethic and willingness to learn, ability to work with multiple systems, strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, organization and documentation skills. Also, for an ability to work well with contractors, internal and external clients.

Essential Functions

  • Provide scripting, scheduling, and event planning services for various systems running LED boards and TVs through the arena.
  • Assist Broadcast Technology group with broadcast engineering in the control room including video/audio signal flow, new installations and upgrades, repair and management of existing systems.
  • Assist with cable and equipment repair, know how to wrap video/audio cables (coax, triax, fiber, XLR, network) and understand live production and broadcast video.
  • Be available to provide event support and setup for basketball games and other events on nights and weekends.
  • Coordinate and schedule content requests and event tech requirements with internal and external clients.
  • Assist Broadcast Technology group with projects and event staff management.
  • Regularly demonstrate the ability to understand signal flow and read and compose documentation.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other

  • Previous control room experience.
  • Ability to work well on a team and independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills and extremely detail oriented.
  • Ability to manage workload with general instructions and periodic review from supervisor.
  • Familiarity with Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects and other Adobe Suite programs.
  • Preference to those who have experience in live production/arena technology systems including Daktronics, IPTV Systems, graphics and clip playout systems.
  • Ability to pick up and successfully adapt to new software, hardware, and other technology quickly.
  • Experience with content or event management preferred.
  • Familiarity with video/audio cabling including coax, triax, fiber, XLR, network
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment efficiently

Education
: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience
: Minimum of 2 years of live production or video broadcast experience. Strong understanding of video production and content management. Previous experience with working with multiple systems and interfacing with clients. Experience in working in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have supervisory responsibility

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: The base salary for this exempt role will be: $55,000-$65,000. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:
  • Benefits: Regular full-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, health saving accounts with an employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, and life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. Additional benefits may include employer-paid short/long-term disability plans, generous fitness and well-being benefits, work-related reimbursements, and fully paid family/caregiver leave. Regular full-time employees start with 11 Holidays, at least 20 paid PTO days, 2 Volunteer days, and 4 Personal Holidays in each calendar year.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM. In addition to working office hours staff may be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx home games, member events and meetings, and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.

Travel
Position may require travel to external events.
