Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Floor Manager to oversee the daily operations of The Bambu Tropical Bar & Grille. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader, with a focus on creating a positive guest experience, managing staff, and ensuring that the restaurant runs efficiently. As the Floor Manager, you will be responsible for everything from overseeing operations to ensuring the restaurant meets high standards of service and quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in a restaurant management role (minimum of 3 years) in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including POS systems, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage, train, and motivate a team of front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, and hosts, ensuring excellent service standards and a positive work environment.
- Customer Service Excellence: Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by resolving any issues and providing personalized service. Foster a welcoming environment for all guests.
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including managing opening and closing procedures, inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
- Staff Development: Conduct training sessions to improve employee performance and satisfaction. Regularly evaluate team performance, provide feedback, and encourage growth and development.
- Financial Oversight: Manage restaurant expenses and revenue. Help to track financial goals, labor costs, and product costs while identifying opportunities to increase profitability.
- Quality Control: Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure food quality, consistency, and timely service. Monitor all aspects of food presentation and ensure hygiene and safety standards are met.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with local health codes, food safety standards, and all other legal and regulatory requirements.
- Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing private events, catering orders, and special promotions to drive business and attract new guests.
- Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with regular customers, handle guest complaints or concerns in a professional manner, and encourage positive reviews
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a restaurant management role.
- Experience in a waterfront restaurant or similar dining setting is a plus.
