Risk Management Specialist

The Risk Management Specialist supports this mission by providing support to the Risk Management function supporting a safe workplace and liability risk, as well as supporting Human Resources in learning and development functions encouraging a positive associate experience.
Can be located in Nashville, TN, Indianapolis or South Bend, IN for onsite
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include but are not limited to the following:
Risk Management Responsibilities
- Manage claims from all lines of coverage (Property, General Liability, Auto, Workers Compensation, Builders Risk, Cyber, etc.) – Include but not limited to, Reporting to Broker/Carrier and Continued communications with adjusters and associates to ensure proper investigation and information is in place
- Process all workers compensation reporting and provide support to associates dealing with workplace injuries
- Keep all workplace injury documentation up to date and run annual OSHA reports
- Ensure Risk Manager Pro system is up to date with current locations, automobiles, associates, COIs, claims, etc.
- Request Certificates of Insurance (COI) from broker and provide to requesting party
- Assist with annual liability insurance renewals (update spreadsheets, applications, allocations, and billings)
- Support expiring policy audits (collection of payroll and request of remaining exposures information)
- Schedule required safety related training and ensure compliance
- Develop and lead safety committee, schedule annual meetings and trainings determined by committee, post monthly safety topics, and document all discussions/trainings.
- Start development workbooks once projects get to wildcat stage
- Manage and track monthly open invoices from Gibson and Alliant
- Manage MVR submissions and monthly updates to and from Gibson, and communicate and manage employment eligibility with HR.
- Serve as backup for any risk management related requests as needed
General support responsibilities
- Processes mail (including overnights)
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
- Manage organization and filing of Risk Management files
- Makes photocopies, faxes and scans documents and performs other clerical functions as requested
- Assist in communications related to assigned responsibilities
- Assists with various research projects and/or special projects
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree preferred
- Must have at least 3 years of strong experience with workers compensation or liability insurance, with a willingness to learn any new skills
- Strong computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office products
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities effectively

Compensation:
The
Risk Management Assistant
compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. This range is subject to local, state and regional dynamics and may be adjusted up or down depending on market conditions.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibility
Promotional Opportunity:
Associates with more than twelve (12) months of service may request consideration to transfer to other jobs as vacancies become available and will be considered along with other applicants. To be considered, Associates must have a satisfactory performance record and have no disciplinary actions during the last twelve (12) months. Management retains the discretion to make exceptions to the policy.
