Job Summary and Qualifications

As AVP, Risk & Compliance, you will spearhead the oversight, development, implementation, and evaluation of potential risks associated with digital transformation and innovation initiatives, including artificial intelligence and machine learning. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop processes, policies, education, and reporting, while maintaining relationships with key executives and leaders across the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the company's digital initiatives are both innovative and compliant.

  • Provide leadership and support to a multidisciplinary team managing compliance oversight for AI-related programs.
  • Design, develop, or contribute to the company's compliance program, including policies, procedures, education, and system updates.
  • Identify, communicate, and direct actions to address key compliance risks, ensuring proactive mitigation.
  • Provide strategic and management leadership for compliance relative to projects, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and industry-level leader on key company initiatives, guiding the company's approach to digital risk and compliance.
  • Oversee the creation, deployment, and maintenance of regulatory and compliance education and training programs to foster a culture of compliance.
  • Evaluate review results to determine trends and systemic issues, facilitating action steps for problem resolution and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor performance and communicate with appropriate parties to ensure regulatory system readiness, proactively addressing potential gaps.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement processes to facilitate compliance, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify and share best practices, staying abreast of current standards and facilitating standardization across the organization.
  • Review existing policies and recommend revisions, assisting with the development and implementation of new policies to adapt to evolving digital landscapes.
  • Provide data analysis of identified metrics, interpret data, perform causal analysis, and report findings to inform decision-making.
  • Drive strategic and tactical development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and strategy guidance on key company initiatives, contributing to the successful and compliant execution of digital strategies.
  • Communicate routinely to leadership and stakeholders regarding project status, issues, and successes, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Some travel – up to 25%

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of healthcare experience.
  • 7 years in a leadership/management role.
  • Preferred 5-7 years of clinical experience, especially related to coding or clinical documentation compliance.
  • Experience in risk management, compliance, or audit, with a focus on digital technologies.
  • Experience related to Digital Transformation & Innovation is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree required: Medical, Nursing, Health Information Management.
  • Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field is highly desirable
  • Master's degree preferred.
