Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Your expertise in food handling, meal preparation, and adherence to food safety standards will contribute to the overall success of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative kitchen setting and demonstrate a passion for culinary excellence.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards set by the head chef.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring all work areas are sanitized.
  • Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling techniques at all times.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
  • Participate in daily kitchen prep tasks and assist with special dietary requests as needed.
  • Must be available Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a dietary department or as a cook in a restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in the culinary field.
