What you'll do

In this critical role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services team, you will support the Information Technology function via the CCSI (Cloud, Client Services, and Innovation) Team. This position is a key member of the CCSI team and is responsible for day-to-day operational and technical support with systems & network engineering across all systems and platforms with a focus on Azure Cloud.

The CCSI Systems Lead Engineer is a full-time role located in Silicon Valley, California and reports to the Cloud Platform Delivery and Operation Director. Paid relocation is not available for this position.

  • Manage the day-to-day technical, administrative, and functional support for various cloud platforms and systems.
  • Manage resources for current and new systems planning and scoping. 
  • Coordinate in the design and operations of AlixPartners' Cloud Platforms – including Azure, AWS, and GCP with a concentration on Azure PaaS services and automation.
  • Guide the design and implementation of various new cloud native platform deployments and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze, report, and advise on various cloud systems and applications performance issues. 
  • Participate in the configuration and setup of technology resources for new engagements.
  • Assess new software applications, application architecture, and configurations, and guide the team in reconfiguring systems, databases, and applications for optimal performance. Participate in troubleshooting as required.
  • Construct or modify documented activities related to system configuration, policies, and procedures.   
  • Define and implement the overall structure and standards for systems documentation.
  • Acquire knowledge, via both formal and on-the-job training, of the various 3rd party packaged software applications and custom solutions used to provide systems monitoring, management, and reporting within the Digital service offering.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and leadership on technology platforms and cloud architectures.

What you'll need

  • BS or BA in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field is preferred; experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Relevant certificates such as CISSP, Azure Architect Expert, Azure Administrator, etc. highly preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in supporting information systems implementation, support, and monitoring, preferably within a predominantly Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Possesses experience in guiding cross-team coordination, providing technical leadership for complex problem-solving, and overseeing product delivery and operations.
  • Experience working in and/or implementing "compliance" environments such as SOC2, ISO27001, HIPPA, etc.
  • Experience in architecting, deploying and administering large language model platforms using Azure services.
  • Exposure to 'Big Data' / BI / Analytics technologies (ex: Power BI, Databricks) preferred.
  • Experience working in Amazon's AWS / EC2 infrastructure (or similar provider) preferred.
  • Experience with PowerShell, ARM, JSON, and Bicep languages.
  • Experience in Azure DevOps CI/CD pipeline development and management.
  • Experience with architecting and hosting web services on Azure PaaS services.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly research new platforms and issues.
  • Experience in large, production-oriented service operations with experience in a 24x7x365 service delivery model supporting mission-critical business operations with large data volumes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Core working hours are generally 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday; willingness to work outside of normal U.S. business hours, and as unique projects/needs arise.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday.

The salary range for this role takes into account a number of factors and is between $145,000/annually - $185,000/annually with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
