Position Summary:

The Azure Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. This role involves leading cloud architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, optimizing performance and cost, and guiding development and operations teams through cloud adoption and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Architecture & Design

  • Design and implement end-to-end cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).
  • Develop architectural blueprints, diagrams, and documentation for cloud environments.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, cost-effective, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards.

2. Cloud Strategy & Governance

  • Define cloud adoption frameworks, best practices, and governance models.
  • Create policies for resource management, identity, access control, and compliance.
  • Evaluate emerging Azure technologies to drive continuous improvement.

3. Implementation & Migration

  • Lead the migration of on-premises systems to Azure using tools like Azure Migrate, ASR, and Database Migration Service.
  • Oversee infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like ARM Templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps integration with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

4. Security, Compliance & Performance

  • Implement and manage security controls, monitoring, and threat protection via Azure Security Center, Defender, and Sentinel.
  • Design high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Optimize cloud costs through monitoring, rightsizing, and governance practices.

5. Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Developers, Network Engineers, Security, and Business Stakeholders).
  • Mentor team members and provide technical guidance.
  • Communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs to executives and technical teams.
