Executive Summary

A leading organization is seeking a Senior Full Stack Applications Engineer to join the People Applications team for a remote/hybrid contract assignment. This role focuses on the development and optimization of technology products supporting talent, engagement, and HR functions, with an emphasis on scalable cloud-based solutions and user-centric design. This engineer will collaborate across business and technical teams to deliver impactful applications aligned with key people strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and support end-to-end people technology applications—including web, microservices, and cloud solutions
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Analysts, Data Engineers, and other Application Engineers on cross-functional initiatives
  • Work directly with business partners to translate people strategies into technical solutions
  • Develop and maintain applications using Python (FastAPI framework), JavaScript, , HTML5, CSS3, and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Optimize database performance (Postgres, SQL/PLSQL), including writing and tuning complex queries
  • Contribute expertise in algorithms, data structures, and design patterns to support robust application architecture
  • Improve efficiency, scalability, security, and stability across various applications
  • Provide training and troubleshooting for end-users and team members
  • Operate effectively in fast-paced, agile teams, managing multiple deadlines and priorities

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience (HR application experience preferred)
  • Proficiency in Python programming (FastAPI framework) and frontend technologies (JavaScript, , HTML5, CSS3)
  • Strong experience building microservices and cloud-based applications (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Advanced database knowledge (Postgres, SQL/PLSQL); experience optimizing queries
  • Solid foundation in computer science principles (algorithms, data structures, design patterns, databases, etc.)
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities across distributed teams
  • Outcomes-oriented, adaptable, and proactive ownership mindset
