Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the Technical Sales Representative for Fabricated Metal Tubing and Assemblies is responsible for leading and managing the customer representative sales team to achieve sales targets and expand the market presence of the company's fabricated metal tubing and assembly products. This role involves developing and implementing strategic sales plans, maintaining and growing customer relationships, and working closely with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy Development:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet revenue targets and expand the customer base.
  • Identify and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to adjust sales tactics.
  • Collaborate with senior management to set and achieve sales goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop customer service representatives, setting clear objectives and providing regular performance feedback.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings to review performance, discuss challenges, and plan for future activities.
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new sales team members as needed.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new and existing accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers in alignment with company policies.
  • Visit customer sites or potential customers. Travel includes working with Product Managers and Sales Representatives.
  • Market Expansion:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets.
  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of potential clients and opportunities.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking activities to promote the company's products and brand.
  • Develop sales materials, campaigns, and promotional activities.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams:
  • Work closely with the product management, materials management, production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure that customer specifications and requirements are met.
  • Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer needs and market demands.
  • Provide feedback on customer pricing targets to estimating for more competitive quotes.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for senior management.
  • Monitor sales metrics and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve sales targets.
  • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activities.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
     Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent work experience in related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
     Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the metal fabrication, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Skills:
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze market data and sales metrics.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of fabricated metal products, tubing, and assembly processes.

o Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business information, customers drawings or sketches, technical procedures and numerical data.

Work Environment:

  • This role requires travel to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit manufacturing facilities.
  • The work environment is typically an office setting with regular interaction with product managers, materials management, production, quality and engineering teams.
