:Job Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately processing incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying and maintaining inventory records, and ensuring materials and products are received, stored, and distributed efficiently. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory control and supporting smooth warehouse operations.

  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming shipments for accuracy, completeness, and condition.
  • Prepare and package outgoing shipments in accordance with company and carrier standards.
  • Create and maintain shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and delivery receipts.
  • Schedule and coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with carriers and internal departments.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Label and store materials in designated warehouse locations to maintain organization and inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with annual physical inventory
  • Enter shipping and receiving data into the company's ERP or inventory management system.
  • Communicate with purchasing, production, and customer service teams regarding material status and discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with company safety policies.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, or similar) is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, and data entry).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate warehouse equipment safely.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Familiarity with standard shipping procedures and carrier requirements (UPS, FedEx, freight).
