POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: UX Engineer

Department: Information Technology

Classification: Exempt

Reports To: Software Engineer Manager

Installation Made Easy ("IME") provides software and process management that enable retailers and

contractors to offer installed home improvements to homeowners in a convenient, consistent, and

affordable manner. IME senior management has over 100 years of retail management and home

improvement industry experience.

The UX Engineer who blends design sensibility with technical expertise and thrives in a

collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role sits at the intersection of user experience,

front-end development, and project coordination. You'll work closely with designers, developers,

and stakeholders to bring intuitive, accessible, and performant user interfaces to life—while also

helping guide project execution and delivery.

An ideal candidate for this role will be a creative and analytical problem solver who blends strong

technical expertise with a deep understanding of user experience principles. They excel at

translating complex requirements into intuitive, visually engaging, and functional designs,

collaborating effectively across teams to create seamless digital experiences that delight users

and support business goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Create wireframes and design mockups for responsive, performant web interfaces
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to refine user flows and interaction patterns
  • Build reusable components and design systems using React/NextJS
  • Write clean, maintainable code with attention to device compatibility across a multitude of

screen resolutions

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and advocate for best practices
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts between design, development, and product teams
  • Help define project scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Track progress, identify risks, and ensure timely delivery of milestones
  • Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives as needed
  • Communicate project status and blockers to stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in front-end development and UX engineering
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React preferred)
  • Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and version control (Git)
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and project tracking tools (Azure, Jira, Trello,

Asana)

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance technical execution with user-centered design thinking

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
