Remote, Oregon, United States User Research International Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

User Research International is looking for a temporary UX Researcher with at least 5+ years of work experience who loves new, emerging technologies.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking an experienced UX Researcher II (Temp) to lead benchmarking and usability studies for advanced, cloud-based AI and developer tools. You'll design and conduct structured evaluations to measure usability, efficiency, and overall user experience — turning complex technical feedback into clear, actionable insights.

This role calls for a researcher skilled in qualitative methods, benchmarking protocols, and comfortable working in AI/ML and data-driven environments. You'll collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists, and developers, managing the full research process — from study design to reporting — with minimal oversight. This is a remote position.

KEY SKILLS

  • Deep experience in benchmarking and qualitative usability research.
  • Strong understanding of human–computer interaction and research design principles.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with AI/ML practitioners, developers, and data scientists.
  • Skilled in synthesizing technical feedback into actionable product insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly organized; capable of independently managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Comfort with cloud-based, developer, or AI/ML platforms.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of UX research experience in technology or developer-facing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute benchmark and usability studies independently.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in HCI, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working with machine learning tools, APIs, or data-driven workflows is strongly preferred.

Benefits:

  • Employer-paid Health/Vision/Dental
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
