Home Oxygen and Sleep Supplies Office Assistant

Confirm delivery and pick-up of patient equipment and supply orders in the HOSS billing system. Scan and link all required billing documentation to patient EMR in the HOSS billing system. Assigns HCPCS codes and ICD-9 or ICD-10 to outpatient visit tickets in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations. Enters office visit charges into the HOSS billing system and monitors the progress of the claim. Maintains excel charge sheets. Revisit charges in HOSS billing system. Medical Records Management. Logging cylinders into HOSS tracking program. Logging equipment serial numbers into the HOSS serialized tracking program. Verify insurances and checking for same and similar with Medicare/Medicaid. Submit proper billing documentation for insurance claim denials. May run errands, answer phones, recordkeeping, updating computer records, utilizing software and meeting demanding timeliness and dealing with numerous interruptions. Will discharge and reregister the APEX customers for fiscal year. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE : Use of computer software, Word and Excel with strong keyboarding skills. HCPCS and Medical Terminology preferred. At least one year of experience in charging/billing preferably in DME and customer service industry. Durable Medical Equipment experience preferred. Oxygen billing/coding experience preferred.
EDUCATION : High School diploma or GED preferred. Additional training in computer and office skills is helpful.

APTITUDES : Ability to multitask while interacting positively with customers. Able to communicate effectively on the phone. Ability to be flexible with changing work load demands.
