Apex Systems is looking to hire a fully remote
Senior Manager of Accounting - Financial Reporting
for our client based out of
Greensboro, NC,
working EST office hours
.
This assignment is anticipated to be a
3-6 month
contract; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment. This will also have a first shift Monday–Friday schedule with potential overtime for month end reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze consolidated monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key account details, providing insights into trends and variances.
• Oversee regional consolidation for multiple entities and resolve related issues.
• Review and approve top-side journal entries and ensure accurate reporting in financial systems.
• Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements (10-Q and 10-K).
• Document accounting analyses and conclusions for complex matters in quarterly memos.
• Research technical accounting issues and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
• Prepare ad hoc financial analyses for customer proposals and reporting needs.
• Assist with external audit activities and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
• Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting and disclosure processes.
• Supervise and mentor senior-level accounting staff.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA required.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, including multi-entity consolidations and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables).
• Experience with reporting tools such as HFM and Power BI.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment and lead direct reports effectively.
• Public accounting experience in audit or advisory roles.
• Technical accounting expertise, including researching and applying new standards.
• Experience in logistics or transportation industry.
• Hourly pay negotiable based upon experience. Expecting an equivalent of $15-160k annually; to be determined.
