Position Summary:

The
Accounting Manager
will oversee financial operations for data center entities, ensuring accurate expense tracking, efficient AP processes, and timely close activities. This role will lead audits, strengthen compliance controls, and drive process improvements through automation. The manager will collaborate cross-functionally and mentor accounting staff to support operational and financial alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting for operating data centers, ensuring accurate recording of expenses, utilities, maintenance, and other operational costs.
  • Manage the end-to-end AP process, including invoice approvals, coding, payment runs, and vendor management across multiple entities.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly close activities for operating entities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Review and analyze operating expenses, utilities, and facility costs to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Strengthen AP and expense-related controls to ensure SOX and audit compliance; oversee adherence to company policies.
  • Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and variance explanations for external and internal audits.
  • Supervise and mentor AP and accounting staff, providing coaching, development, and performance feedback.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities and system enhancements within ERP and AP workflows.
  • Partner with Site Operations, Procurement, and FP&A teams to align financial reporting with operational activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control principles.
  • Experience managing multi-entity accounting and high-volume AP environments.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skill

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or CPA candidate.
  • Experience in Data Center, Technology Infrastructure, or Energy Operations industries.
  • Familiarity with lease accounting (ASC 842) and operating cost allocation.
  • Public Accounting Experience

  • Digital Literacy: Uses productivity tools (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Excel, ticketing systems) for communication and documentation in office or hybrid settings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to remain in a seated position for an extended period and to lift and carry up to 15 lbs. (office manuals, case notebooks, case files, case materials, standard boxes, report binders, etc.) as needed.
