Under the direct supervision of the Communications Coordinator, the Communications Associate will support content creation and digital management for the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council and various BPNC campaigns. The Associate will work closely with different BPNC departments to ensure BPNC communications represent the full breadth of BPNC's work and align with its goals and values.

This is a contract position.

Summary of Services:

  • Content creation: assist in writing and editing content for various platforms, such as newsletters, press releases, social media posts, and website copy.
  • Digital management: assist in managing BPNC's social media accounts, and regularly update BPNC's website to ensure it is an accurate resource for agency-wide information.
  • Reporting: assist with analyzing communication efforts and preparing reports for BPNC's leadership.

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/ Spanish required
  • Experience using social media for brand awareness and impressions with at least intermediate knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media best practices
  • Experience working within a website content management system (i.e. WordPress, Wix, SquareSpace, etc.)
  • Experience with basic graphic design or design software (i.e. Adobe, Canva, etc.)
  • Experience working with an email marketing platform (i.e. Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Experience with working remotely and virtually collaborating with colleagues
  • Must embrace BPNC's mission of providing equitable access to education, employment, healthcare, safety, and justice and be self-motivated in pursuit of this goal
  • Must have basic knowledge of Google Suite
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
