As our Literacy Coach, you'll be both educator and architect. Your expertise will drive immediate classroom results while simultaneously building a scalable reading program destined for multiple campuses. You'll orchestrate dynamic tech-enhanced workshops, spark reading enthusiasm through strategic motivation techniques, and partner with our engineering team to enhance the AI tools powering our innovative model.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating dynamic, adaptive reading workshops that strengthen core skills in phonics, comprehension, and reading fluency
  • Creating customized motivation systems that enhance student engagement through gamified reading achievements
  • Leveraging student performance data to optimize instructional approaches and identify actionable patterns
  • Partnering with our technology team to test and refine AI literacy platforms based on real classroom outcomes
  • Creating adaptable content that enables personalized reading journeys for students with diverse learning profiles

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Implementing inflexible, pre-scripted curricula that disregards student data or individual needs
  • Drowning in traditional administrative tasks like extensive lesson planning or grading
  • Teaching in under-resourced, overcrowded classroom environments
  • Spending your day on classroom management instead of focused reading instruction
  • Working in a silo without contributing to broader program innovation or product development

Literacy Coach Key Responsibilities
Design and implement a scalable, technology-enhanced reading program that empowers early elementary students to achieve reading proficiency while fostering genuine enthusiasm for reading as a lifelong pursuit.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus specialized certification in reading instruction methodologies (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or comparable approaches)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience providing targeted small-group reading interventions for early elementary learners
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate reading abilities, create strategic student groupings, and develop customized instruction without relying on pre-packaged curricula
  • Experience with adaptive learning technologies and ability to respond effectively to student engagement patterns
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
  • Commitment to on-site work at one of our campus locations: Lake Forest (Orange County, CA), Manhattan (NYC, NY), or Chantilly (Washington D.C. area, VA)

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
