My client is an established, international manufacturer and distributor of precision instrumentation. We are looking for a full time Technical Sales Associate to prospect and close new business. The sales team travels nationally throughout the year for industry trade shows, which provides an excellent lead generation platform. Leadership ensures extensive training of new sales members with comprehensive on-boarding which often includes visits to their global manufacturing and product development centers.
Position Overview
This is a territory sales position managing accounts in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. You will be given an established book of business to manage and grow. You'll also be doing some prospecting to bring in new business. There is training provided to bring you up to speed on the products. You'll be earning commission within a month or two.
Their technical product line is sold to end users through industry specific retail distributors, so you'll be doing about 30% travel locally and regionally. It might be one or two days a week, primarily by car, to meet with your customers and demonstrate the product line. The other days you'll be working in the office.
Position Description
- Account Management - maintain and up-sell existing accounts
- Follow up on leads that come in through the website, trade shows, the online marketing platform, and trade associations.
- Achieve and exceed monthly sales goals
- Must be inclined to succeed in technical products sales and ability to learn the company's product line,
- An understanding of the paint and coating industry will elevate your application
- Manage accounts by tracking and following up on a timely basis
- Input all sales activities into the NetSuite software system daily
- Ability to work effectively with team members
- Conduct job functions in a manner that promotes a high level of customer service and satisfaction
- Travel to trade shows with team members - several times a year
Skills and Background
- Two or more years of successful sales experience with a strong desire to elevate your sales career to the next level of achievement
- Bachelor's or Associates degree preferred and/or relevant experience
- Energetic and motivated with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment
- Driven to close deals while earning an excellent income
- Must have the ability to learn a wide variety of technical products and their applications
- Motivation and drive to handle a large volume of calls, emails and follow up
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet sales goals
- Proficient in Microsoft office and ability to navigate CRM software
- Ability to handle rejection and stay motivated
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Willingness and flexibility to travel to trade shows as needed
We would love to hear from you Base salary likely in the 60K - 65K range based on experience, plus commission averaging $1,000 plus each month. First year earnings projected in the 75K range, second year earnings expected to be 80K - 100K plus. There is no cap on commission.
