  • Manage the GASB-87 & GASB-96; understand and determine if GASB 87 and
  • GASB 96 need to be applied to related agreements and prepare the necessary journal entries
  • Supervise the accounting and reporting for district-wide utility expenditures
  • Manage and provide leadership to General Ledger Staff Accountants and review and approve the staff members' work
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of financial reports, ACFR statements, and Open Record Requests
  • Assist the Assistant Director with the preparation of monthly and year-end close
  • Facilitate and manage the external and internal auditing processes on General Ledger-related items
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with District policies and accounting standards
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Accounting, Finance or Business required
  • CPA Licenses/Certifications preferred
  • Six to eight years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including responsibility for complex financial

transactions, reporting and compliance required

  • Three years of supervisory or senior accounting experience preferred
  • Understanding of fund accounting principles
  • Knowledge of sources of local, state, and federal resources
  • Knowledge of the analysis and interpretation of financial data and the ability to prepare a variety of financial statements and

reports

  • Computer skills specifically with MS Windows, MS Office Professional, and statistical and accounting software applications
  • Ability to interact with all levels of district personnel and the general public
