Texas Health School is looking for an individual with excellent verbal and written skills and an upbeat attitude for a career services representative position. This role is crucial in helping students and graduates with career development, job searching, and employment in the field of their study. The duties include providing career guidance, assisting with job application materials like resumes and cover letters, and organizing events like career fairs. The Career Services Representative acts as a liaison between students and employers to develop job opportunities and relationships, ensuring students are connected with externships and full-time positions

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Educate students on job search skills, resume writing and interviewing techniques, classroom visits, etc.
  • Work with students to acquire externship facilities for upcoming cohort, complete required externship paperwork and orientation.
  • Plan, coordinate, and sponsor job-seeker related activities in collaboration with internal and external entities, including the program-specific job fairs, and Nursing Fair. Arrange health fairs for the community.
  • Coordinate employer visits and engagement opportunities, on-campus.
  • Build and maintain relationships with area career centers, employers and other agencies to facilitate the referral and employment of our students.
  • Build relationships with outside agencies that can assist with the career navigation process, including but not limited to WIOA and Workforce Solutions.
  • Work in cooperation with program directors and leaders, other departments, and the community to enhance employment opportunities for students.
  • Assist students and community members with utilizing resources and technology for the job search process and the preparation and evaluation of job search documents.
  • Work collaboratively, when appropriate, with external partners to provide appropriate wraparound career development support services.
  • Maintain placement records, files, and webpages for Career Services.
  • Assist with completion of annual reports.
  • Support campus admissions and enrollment representative to promote Career Services.

Educational Requirement:

  • Associate of Applied Science or Arts required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:

  • Prior experience in career services in a higher educational institution is required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to build rapport with a diverse student population and employers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
