Duties: Drive the design, development, and implementation of software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Lead code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Lead design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer - Level 4, Project Lead - V&V, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Engaging in all phases of the software engineering lifecycle, with a focus on web development using Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot and Angular frameworks; creating responsive web pages and their functionalities using technologies including , JSON, JavaScript, SASS, TypeScript, XML, HTML, and CSS; designing and implementing Object- Relational Mapping using Hibernate, and SQL queries, integrating with an MS SQL database; designing and developing SOAP and REST APIs for backend service communication; tracking and enhancing development quality through techniques including unit testing with JUnit, Mockito, and Groovy, as well as peer reviews; automating the build and deployment of application code using GIT, Maven, Jenkins, and the Jules framework; promoting Agile engineering practices, including pair programming, continuous integration, and test-driven development; analyzing and estimating future work by collaborating with Engineering Leads; developing high-level and low-level system designs, incorporating design patterns and best practices; working with Architects on application design and architecture, and partnering with Product Owners to deliver key business initiatives; adhering to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and validating web applications using assistive technologies including JAWS and NVDA; interpreting functional specifications, creating technical specifications, and delivering high-quality code according to specifications; monitoring applications with Dynatrace and Splunk to analyze production issues related to latency and customer experience; deploying applications using Apache Tomcat; leveraging Linux and Unix to access application logs and diagnose deployment issues; developing test cases and ensuring issues are accurately identified, resolved, and tested by collaborating closely with the Product team, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance team; Quality Assurance, including automated testing with Cucumber, functional testing, manual testing, performance testing, regression testing, smoke testing and user acceptance testing; and conducting performance testing using JMeter and BlazeMeter and generating reports from BlazeMeter.
