The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive.Much has changed since that time. Today the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation, owns and operates a Casino and a Golf Resort, and owns a number of other business ventures in the San Diego Region. Whether you work in our state-of-the-art Casino, our beautiful Resort, or become a staff member in our Tribal Government division, you will be part of the Sycuan family.Job Purpose:Provides service to our guests by delivering food and drinksJob Duties and Responsibilities:(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)Provides guests with service by acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the casino and assigned areas, promptly taking and serving orders, responding to guest requests, and collecting and processing payment and returning change following established procedures.Promotes guest relations by responding to guest requests, offering appropriate up to date information regarding promotional contests and giveaways, providing requested assistance, and treating guests in a friendly and courteous manner. - 15%Provides accounting of transactions during shift by entering cash transactions in point-of-sale system, counting currency, logging guest discounts, VIP points and credit cards on cashier drop work sheet, balancing money drawer against generated cashier report following established procedures, and reporting discrepancies to the food services management team.Ensures restaurant stations are stocked and clean by completing and submitting supply requisitions, placing delivered water, food and supplies, cups and condiments in the server stations, and cleaning shelves, condiment holders, tables and counters according to established procedures.Maintains safe and sanitary dining areas by cleaning surfaces, emptying ashtrays, picking up used trays, plates, cups, condiments and utensils and disposing of all trash.Job Specifications:Education and Experience:Essential:County of San Diego ServSafe Food Handler CardCA ABC Responsible Beverage Service CertificationDesirable:Guest Service and/or Hospitality experienceCash handling experienceConcession experienceServer experienceCasino serving experienceSkills and Knowledge:Essential:Ability to work effectively with team members and guestsAbility to communicate effectively in the English languageAbility to maintain professionalism and composureAbility to perform simple mathematical calculationsAbility to count U.S. currency and make change in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to understand verbal directives and written instructionsAbility to accept constructive criticismAbility to routinely lift and carry 50 lbs.Ability to stand and walk for up to eight hours at a timeAbility to bend, stoop, push and pullAbility to work in a smoking environmentAbility to appear for work on timeDesirable:Multi-lingualSupervisory/ Managerial Accountability:Direct: NoneIndirect: NoneIf you enjoy being part of a community dedicated to creating a memorable guest experience, we invite you to explore career opportunities with Sycuan and join our winning team
