Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role is vital in providing exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, retail experience, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently. Bilingual abilities and supervisory experience are a plus, contributing to a dynamic and customer-focused environment.

Duties

  • Operate POS systems accurately to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges
  • Assist customers with product inquiries and provide product demos when applicable
  • Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities
  • Maintain merchandising standards by organizing displays and ensuring stock levels are appropriate
  • Stock shelves and ensure the store is clean, organized, and inviting for shoppers
  • Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling procedures with accuracy
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Supervise or assist in supervising team members during shifts when necessary
  • Follow phone etiquette standards when communicating with customers over the phone

Skills

  • Proficiency with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate transactions
  • Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities
  • Ability to perform cashiering duties efficiently while maintaining a friendly demeanor
  • Experience in merchandising, stocking, and retail sales environments such as grocery stores or similar retail settings
  • Bilingual skills are preferred to serve a diverse customer base effectively
  • Demonstrated supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles within the team
  • Skills in upselling and product demos to increase sales volume
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Knowledge of phone etiquette for professional communication with customers and vendors
