This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop sales skills, deepen product knowledge, and contribute to a responsible retail experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and engage with them to understand their needs and interests in firearms and related products
  • Conduct product demonstrations and explain features, safety procedures, and proper handling of firearms
  • Assist customers in selecting the right firearms, accessories, and merchandise based on their preferences and experience levels
  • Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately, including cash handling, credit card processing, and receipts
  • Upsell complementary products such as ammunition, safety gear, or accessories to enhance customer satisfaction and store sales
  • Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with current inventory
  • Perform regular stock checks, receive shipments, and assist with inventory management to ensure product availability
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions via phone or in person with professionalism and clear communication skills
  • Conduct product demos safely while adhering to all safety protocols and legal regulations
  • Support store cleanliness by tidying displays, cleaning demo areas, and ensuring a safe shopping environment
  • Assist in training new team members or supervising junior staff when needed

Experience

  • Previous retail sales experience preferred; experience in firearms or outdoor sporting goods is a plus but not required
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and confidently
  • Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
  • Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, basic math for transactions, and retail math concepts
  • Experience in merchandising, stocking shelves, or grocery store environments is beneficial for understanding inventory flow
  • Demonstrated phone etiquette skills for handling inquiries professionally over the phone
  • Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
  • Knowledge of firearm safety regulations and legal compliance is desirable but can be supported through training
