Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security systems, including installation and maintenance of alarm systems, CCTV, and fire alarms. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and customer service skills to ensure the highest level of safety and security for our clients.

Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair various alarm systems, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), fire alarms, and surveillance cameras (CCTV).
  • Conduct field service calls to troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing security systems.
  • Design and implement security system layouts based on client specifications and schematics.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for installation tasks.
  • Perform cabling for low voltage systems while adhering to National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess their security needs and provide recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and repairs performed.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies in alarm systems, remote access software, and telecommunication advancements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician in the security industry or related field.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Familiarity with computer networking principles and computer hardware relevant to alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of system design principles for security applications.
  • Experience with sensors, CCTV installation, locksmithing, and construction practices is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics related to electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
