The Omnisharp Field Mechanic is responsible for installing, servicing and repairing Omnisharp equipment at customer sites in the US and internationally.
The Field Mechanic is responsible for ensuring Omnisharp's robotic knife-sharpening machines at customer sites remain healthy and 100% operational. A successful Field Mechanic is expected to become a machine expert and work with multiple teams to resolve customer issues. The Field Mechanic will train and work out of our Round Rock facility, as well as remotely at customer sites. Field Mechanics work directly with Omnisharp customers, and must be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Omnisharp machines are part of a plant's critical infrastructure and 4 hour dispatch for repair is frequent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and oversee OmniSharp machine repair issues
- Calibrate machines to achieve optimal performance
- Provide training and technical assistance to all teams
- Travel to customer sites for support, preventative maintenance and installations
- Develop and maintain high-quality relationships with customers
- Travel up to 60% of the time
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with AC 3-phase, DC voltage, software to hardware, pneumatic plumbing, 6-axis robots, or generalized maintenance troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to interact with customers, with integrity and empathy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player and self-starter, with a positive, results-driven attitude
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with an attention to detail
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics
- Spanish language skills a plus
- Clean driving record required
Physical Restrictions:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs of tools and/or equipment
- Ability to traverse multiple flights of stairs and/or walk for extended periods carrying equipment
- Ability to work in cold-weather environments
- Ability to work inside small spaces for an extended period of time.
- Ability to stand and/or kneel/crouch for 10+ hours
- Excellent hand-eye coordination to work with small hardware in difficult-to-access areas
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65, $90,000.00 per year
