Test Engineer

Role Overview

As a Test Engineer, you will design, develop, and execute testing protocols for advanced electro-mechanical systems and components. You'll own testing strategy, system validation, and result analysis to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test plans and procedures for functional, performance, and reliability testing
• Design, build, and calibrate test fixtures, harnesses, and automated test setups
• Execute tests on integrated systems, collecting and analyzing data to evaluate product performance
• Identify failures, lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and document corrective actions
• Collaborate with design, quality, and manufacturing teams to drive design-for-testability improvements
• Ensure testing adheres to industry standards (e.g., UL, CSA, NEMA, ISO)
• Support continuous improvement: automate test sequences, enhance data collection, and refine reporting
• Maintain test documentation, test tool configuration, and lab environments

Qualifications
Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Test Engineering, or related field
• 3-5+ years of experience in test engineering for electronics, electro-mechanical systems, or similar products
• Proficient in test bench methodology, instrumentation (oscilloscopes/multimeters), and scripting for automation (Python, LabVIEW, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills for test data analysis and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with industry standards such as UL, CSA, NEMA, and relevant EMC/EMI test procedures
• Effective communication and documentation capabilities

Preferred

• Experience working with power electronics, PCBs, motors, or electromechanical assemblies
• Exposure to automated test systems, regression testing workflows, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 lab accreditation processes
• Trends in functional safety (e.g., IEC and EMC compliance
