Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, managing transactions, and supporting sales initiatives. This position requires a blend of retail experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process customer transactions.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving issues.
  • Assist with product demonstrations to enhance customer understanding and engagement.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and services.
  • Maintain accurate cash handling practices during transactions.
  • Stock shelves and merchandise products according to store standards.
  • Supervise junior staff members when necessary, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and retail math tasks.
  • Uphold phone etiquette while answering customer calls or inquiries.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the cashier area and sales floor.

Skills

  • Proven experience in cashiering and retail sales environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers.
  • Familiarity with merchandising techniques and stocking procedures.
  • Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
  • Experience in supervising staff is advantageous but not required.
  • Ability to perform product demos effectively to drive sales engagement.
  • Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial.
