Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to join our dynamic finance team within the freight-forwarding industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the accounts payable function. In this role, you will ensure the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, manage payment cycles, and maintain compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management:

· Oversee the full accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval, and processing of vendor payments in accordance with company policies and contractual terms.

Invoice & Payment Processing:

· Ensure accurate matching of purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents. Verify the accuracy of accounts payable data and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Vendor Relationship Management:

· Act as the primary point of contact for all vendor inquiries related to payments, billing issues, and account reconciliations. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and service providers.

Reconciliation & Reporting:

· Perform regular accounts payable reconciliations, ensuring that all outstanding balances are accurate. Prepare detailed reports for management on the status of payables and payment aging.

Payment Approvals & Controls:

· Review and approve payments for vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company approval workflows and internal controls. Assist in preparing weekly and monthly payment runs.

Month-End Close:

· Support month-end and year-end closing activities by ensuring timely and accurate accounts payable entries. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports related to payables.

Process Improvement:

· Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounts payable workflows. Propose solutions to streamline and enhance efficiency within the department.

Compliance & Auditing:

· Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations. Assist in internal and external audits related to accounts payable functions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

· Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data recording and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role, ideally within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, payment cycles, and reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and knowledge of GoFreight is preferred.
  • Experience with freight forwarding or shipping-related accounting is preferred.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Knowledge of relevant tax laws
  • Bilingual Mandarin or Cantonese preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75, $85,000.00 per year
