We are currently seeking a Business Analyst

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

EHR System Management (Netsmart Avatar):

• Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Netsmart Avatar.

• Configure and maintain forms, workflows, templates, user roles, and permissions.

• Manage system updates, patches, and testing prior to release.

• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with Netsmart support as needed.

• Maintain user access, security controls, and audit logs.

Reporting & Data Analysis:

• Develop, maintain, and distribute reports from Avatar and related systems.

• Ensure report accuracy, data integrity, and consistency.

• Support Finance, Quality, Operations, and Nursing with data pulls and analysis.

• Build dashboards and provide actionable data insights to leadership.

• Assist with volume, productivity, and compliance reporting.

Workflow Optimization & Process Improvement:

• Analyze current clinical and operational workflows and identify improvement opportunities.

• Partner with Nursing, Providers, Admissions, Billing, and Operations to streamline processes.

• Document workflows and create updated SOPs related to Avatar usage.

• Support initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, documentation quality, and compliance.

• Ensure workflows align with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.

Training & End-User Support:

• Provide onboarding and ongoing training to staff on Avatar functionality and workflows.

• Develop training materials, quick guides, and reference sheets.

• Offer second-level support for questions or issues; escalate when needed.

• Conduct refresher training to reinforce documentation standards.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

• Work closely with Clinical Leadership, Operations, Billing/RCM, and IT.

• Ensure Avatar configuration supports billing, coding, documentation, and compliance workflows.

• Assist with data preparation for audits, surveys, and accreditation processes.

Project Management:

• Lead or support EHR-related projects, module enhancements, and workflow redesigns.

• Maintain project plans, timelines, and communication with stakeholders.

• Coordinate go-lives and post-implementation support.

Data Governance & Compliance:

• Ensure data security and HIPAA compliance across all Avatar processes.

• Support internal audits for system access, documentation, and configuration.

• Monitor system usage and identify areas for follow-up or training.

Business Analyst

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or a related field (preferred).

• Equivalent healthcare EHR experience may be considered in place of a degree.

Experience:

• 2–4 years of experience.

• Experience in data reporting or analytics within a healthcare environment preferred. 

• Experience supporting users, troubleshooting, and working with vendors on system issues.

• Prior experience with workflow analysis, system configuration, upgrades, or implementation.
