Position Overview

JLL is seeking an experienced Director, Engineering to lead strategic operations programs and provide comprehensive technical oversight for our facilities management operations. This senior leadership role requires a dynamic professional who can drive innovation, ensure operational excellence, and deliver exceptional client satisfaction through integrated engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team while fostering collaboration with facilities management personnel
  • Develop and execute strategic plans supporting JLL and client objectives with focus on innovation and industry best practices
  • Create standardized work processes for all engineering activities across the portfolio
  • Ensure consistent maintenance management practices and achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Operations & Performance Management

  • Oversee service center, security, data management, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) operations
  • Drive achievement of contractual KPIs and maximize incentive fee earnings through operational excellence
  • Implement and manage computerized maintenance management systems per JLL and client standards
  • Identify facility risks and eliminate operational downtime through proactive measures

Safety & Compliance

  • Administer JLL Engineering Services Compliance Program
  • Ensure compliance with environmental health and safety regulations and reporting requirements
  • Maintain comprehensive risk management protocols across all facilities

Energy Management & Sustainability

  • Oversee Portfolio Energy Manager in developing contractual energy management programs
  • Implement efficiency guidelines, conduct energy audits, and manage benchmarking initiatives
  • Manage utility provider relationships and optimize consumption reporting processes
  • Identify and implement energy management best practices and innovations

Training & Development

  • Design and deliver training programs based on skills assessments and safety requirements
  • Conduct technical skills evaluations and manage professional development initiatives
  • Ensure continuous improvement of team capabilities and competencies

Strategic Procurement Support

  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing on regional and national contract negotiations
  • Provide technical expertise for product and service procurement decisions

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of direct supervisory experience in multi-building operations

Technical Expertise

  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems
  • Experience with commercial and critical facilities operations
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems

Core Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Excellent organizational abilities and collaborative management approach
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
