The Early Excellence Project (EEP) is a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to
strengthening early childhood education by providing business stabilization, professional
coaching, and fiduciary sponsorship to early learning providers. Through innovative
initiatives like the Duolingo Early Learners First program and partnerships with community
organizations, EEP supports childcare providers in improving operations, expanding access,
and delivering high-quality early learning experiences for children and families in
Pittsburgh and beyond.
Position Summary
The Early Excellence Project seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Part-
Time Executive Assistant to support the Executive Director and leadership team. The
Executive Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations,
coordinating key projects, managing communications, and supporting the organization's
mission-driven work.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct administrative support to the Executive Director, including scheduling
meetings, managing calendars, and preparing materials.
- Draft, proofread, and format correspondence, reports, presentations, and other
documents.
- Assist with meeting coordination, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and
tracking follow-up tasks.
- Support the implementation of organizational projects and events, ensuring deadlines are
met and details are executed smoothly.
- Help organize and maintain internal systems for files, records, and data tracking.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, and special events.
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries, demonstrating
professionalism and excellent customer service.
- Assist with donor, partner, and stakeholder communications, including emails,
newsletters, and thank-you letters.
- Support the coordination of board meetings, including materials preparation and
scheduling.
- Assist with tracking grants, donations, and reporting deadlines.
- Provide administrative support for program activities, workshops, and outreach events.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of administrative, executive assistant, or operations experience
(nonprofit experience a plus).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple
priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project management tools.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to equity, community impact, and the mission of early childhood education.
Compensation & Schedule
Status: Part-Time (20–25 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: $22 – $28 per hour, commensurate with experience
Flexible schedule with some required availability during standard business hours and
occasional evening events.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $ $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
