About The Team: The Network, Security, and Voice Engineering Group is responsible for designing and implementing core data, security, and voice system solutions for all Delta Air Lines locations. These solutions are the backbone for any application solution provided to all Delta Air Lines users.
Our Mission: Network Services Delivery will ensure 24 by 7 highly available and high performing network solutions in support of Delta's business operations helping to transform technology into a competitive advantage.
This role is a critical leader and contributor to the development of new approaches when well-defined processes are not available. This role contributes to the development of new approaches when well-defined processes are not available. While there are industry patterns (e.g., GitOps, CI/CD, IaC), applying these to large-scale networks is still an emerging field.
Much Of What This Role Entails Involves
Working with Architects and ESA's to customize pipelines for networking that mimic successful software DevOps practices.
Contributing to the development of new standards for network versioning, testing, and rollback.
Assisting with the development of integration models between networking, cloud, and application teams.
Responsibility for New Processes, Systems, or Products
The NetDevOps Senior Engineer Is Responsible For
Much of what this role entails involves:
Working with Architects and ESA's to customize pipelines for networking that mimic successful software DevOps practices.
Contributing to the development of new standards for network versioning, testing, and rollback.
Assisting with the development of integration models between networking, cloud, and application teams.
Responsibility for New Processes, Systems, or Products
Assisting with the creation of new automation frameworks that govern how network changes are developed, tested, and deployed.
Developing and owning CI/CD pipelines specific to network operations, which didn't exist previously at this scale.
Developing reusable infrastructure modules (e.g., Terraform, Ansible playbooks) that standardize network deployment.
Introducing analytics capabilities for proactive network monitoring.
Role

What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: 6–8 years in network engineering or cloud infrastructure.
- Experience: 2–3 years in network automation or DevOps practices.
- Experience contributing to enterprise-scale automation initiatives.
This role requires not only traditional network engineering but also proficiency in DevOps practices, automation, and cross-functional collaboration.
