Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team, committed to enhancing communication abilities in adult populations. In this vital role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with acquired neurogenic speech and language disorders. Your expertise will help empower patients to achieve their fullest communicative potential, fostering confidence and independence.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency functions using standardized tools and clinical observations
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, goals, and developmental stage
- Deliver evidence-based speech therapy interventions for adult clients
- Educate patients and their families on communication techniques, exercises, and strategies to support ongoing progress at home
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Stay current with advancements in speech therapy practices by participating in ongoing professional development
- Assist with patient care activities that promote optimal physiological functioning related to speech and language
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to inform assessment and treatment approaches
Skills
- Proven experience working in adult populations and documenting appropriately for Medicare and private insurance billing
- Ability to perform detailed patient assessments utilizing appropriate tools and clinical judgment
- Familiarity with medical terminology and anatomy relevant to communication disorders
- Excellent communication skills for effectively engaging with clients, families and healthcare professionals
- Ability to adapt therapy strategies based on individual patient progress and changing needs
- Passion for patient care with a positive attitude that motivates clients toward achievable goals
