Field Sales Representative

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated, self-starting Lubricants Sales Representative to grow our lubricant division through new business development and expansion within our existing customer base. The ideal candidate is driven, outgoing, and thrives on building relationships that turn opportunities into long-term partnerships.
This position offers a base salary that transitions over time into a primarily commission-based structure, rewarding growth and long-term customer retention. Products sold include motor oils, industrial lubricants, hydraulic oil, compressor oils, greases, coolants, antifreeze, and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid), including oils and lubricants used in natural gas power plant applications (e.g. reciprocating engine oil for turbines).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business in the lubricants segment through proactive prospecting, cold calling, and relationship building.
- Identify and convert existing Coyne Oil & Propane customers who are not
- Maintain and grow assigned accounts through regular contact, service follow-up, and needs assessments.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales and internal operations teams to ensure customer satisfaction and seamless delivery.
- Prepare quotes, proposals, and presentations for prospective clients.
- Track sales activity, pipeline, and goals using CRM tools.
- Attend lubricant product training sessions to gain a strong understanding of lubricant types, applications, and value propositions.
- Stay current on product knowledge and industry trends to provide consultative solutions to customers.
- Attend occasional trade shows, customer events, and team meetings as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in B2B environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills — both verbal and written.
- Self-motivated with a "hunter" mentality; able to work independently and drive results.
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Preferred but not required:
- Background in lubricants, automotive, or industrial sales.
- Experience with customer account management in a service-based business.
