Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking an IP Specialist to join their team in Irvine, CA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys in all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting and filing patent applications, office action responses, and related legal documents.
  • Coordinate with the docketing department to maintain and update patent dockets, ensuring all deadlines for filings and responses are met.
  • Prepare and file PCT applications and foreign patent filings in accordance with international requirements.
  • Manage correspondence with clients, patent offices, and foreign associates.
  • Assist in preparing legal documents such as assignments, declarations, and priority claims.
  • Maintain both electronic and physical patent files in an organized and accessible manner.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to the patent team as needed.
  • Stay informed about developments in patent law, procedures, and industry best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a patent-focused role such as a patent specialist, legal secretary, or similar legal support position.
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. and international patent prosecution procedures.
  • Experience using docketing systems and working with large or guideline-driven clients is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and patent-related software tools and databases.
