Core Expectations

  • Perform a variety of maintenance tasks—ranging from minor to complex—on facilities, buildings, residential houses, grounds, and equipment, including carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting.
  • Repair and maintain pumps, motors, fans, louvers, roofs, doors, drains, septic systems, and organized storage areas.
  • Operate heavy power-driven equipment such as trucks, loaders, and other maintenance and repair machinery.
  • Perform routine cleaning of grounds, including lawn care and snow removal.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Maintain and repair the irrigation water distribution systems throughout the greenhouse facilities.
  • Perform repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
  • Be available for on-call emergency maintenance services to ensure continuous operation of essential greenhouse systems.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to additional maintenance crew members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Operate forklifts, front-end loaders, and electric carts safely and effectively.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal form.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other departments.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.
  • Exhibit strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
  • Adapt well to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong technical aptitude.
  • Licensing Requirement:
    Must hold a minimum of a Minnesota 2C Boiler License, or obtain a Special Engineer License within six (6) months of employment and a 2C License within eighteen (18) months of employment.

Experience / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in general construction, maintenance, or repair work, including operation of a wide range of power-driven equipment.
