About the Role
The Territory Sales Engineer drives the profitable growth of Makino's advanced machine tool products within the assigned region. This role combines technical expertise with strong relationship-building and business development skills to deliver value to customers and expand Makino's market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Understand customer manufacturing challenges and propose tailored solutions using Makino's technologies.
- Manage the full sales cycle — from prospecting and presentations to closing and follow-up.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless installation and customer satisfaction.
- Represent Makino at regional and national trade shows.
Qualifications
- Proven success in technical or capital equipment sales, ideally within the machine tool industry.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to discuss complex manufacturing solutions confidently.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce and SAP experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
