Job purpose

Procurement Coordinator's responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers and managing the relationship between internal customers, purchasing, demand, inventory and materials to ensure continuous supply of materials. The Procurement Coordinator's duty is to discover the best ways to cut procurement expenses so that the company can invest in growth and people.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee purchase orders by verifying specifications and prices; obtain recommendations from suppliers for substitute items.
  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships.
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Maintain purchasing procedures and suppliers records as per ISO / OS guidelines.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
  • Coordinate with Operations regarding delivery schedules and unloading requirements.
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • Meet with various suppliers on supply chain/procurement needs.
  • Manage all in bound material movement to all MFG locations.
  • Ensure the supply of materials meets the production schedule and

minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity.

  • Help minimize the cost of acquiring and carrying inventories, help ensure optimization of purchasing-inventory-plant utilization, and avoid duplicate purchases.
  • If necessary, coordinate logistic function for incoming raw materials.
  • Conduct suppler reviews and negotiate with vendors for improved position(s).
  • Resolve raw material quality control issues with suppliers, which may include communication with Quality Control/ Quality Assurance Department.
  • Maintain current supplier contact information, product details, and cost in Chempax.
  • Coordinate with the business on pricing changes.
  • Work with Accounting and suppliers to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Send specialty contract manufacturing customers receiving paperwork for their materials.
  • Manage plant to plant transfers.
  • Encourage creation and bring new and best-in-class approaches to the table for developing and continuously improving processes.
  • Confer and advise on the strategic direction of supply chain with the Director of Supply Chain.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications required to successfully perform this job include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in management or the equivalent of seven years' experience in the supply chain management or business management.
  • Experience with order scheduling and/or order management required.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with high competency with MS Excel.
  • Extensive experience in supply chain planning.
  • Extensive knowledge of purchasing procedures, common industrial terminology, and systems software experience.
  • Talent in negotiating and networking.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills - in person, over the phone, and via email.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52, $59,500.00 per year
