Major Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes various computer applications to process forms, flowcharts, surveys and other documents.
  • Orders office supplies and minor equipment, maintains supply/equipment inventory, and signs order invoices/processes order check requests.
  • Manages various department databases by compiling and entering data.
  • Completes various mailings, copy center requests, and coordinates distribution.
  • Organizes and files correspondence and projects.  Distributes mail from department hospital box and ensures outgoing mail is sent.
  • May serves as receptionist for the department.
  • May process financial items including, but not limited to check requests and petty cash.
  • Maintains organization of all invoices and reconciles invoices to general ledgers to maintain departmental budget.  Coordinates travel requests for department.
  • Assist DBE as required and attends departmental meetings.
  • Serves as a liaison between CHGS, MCCG, HSCG, and Mercer University.
  • Assist in medical education research, including but not limited to, transcribing documents, on-line research, and organizing material for research projects as required.

Education Required:

High school diploma or GED. 

Experience Required:

Minimum three years of experience with one year of secretarial training; four years of experience in lieu of training.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must be able to use visual acuity to see monitor screen, computer and hard copy materials.  Must be able to hear and verbally communicate in person and over the phone or radio. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time (up to 2 hours).  Must be able to comprehend and learn operation of various office equipment.  Must have functional range of motion of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines, upper and lower extremities with a grip strength of 50-60# specific to job evaluation.  Must be able to forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel and apply proper body mechanics during the transfers and transport supplies and/or equipment using proper body mechanics. Must be able to lift up to 10# specific to job evaluation.
