Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional service to our customers in a grocery store environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to handle transactions efficiently while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Duties

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently for processing transactions.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, product information, and resolving any issues.
  • Perform cashiering duties including cash handling, processing payments, and managing receipts.
  • Engage in upselling and merchandising to enhance the shopping experience and promote store products.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers on new items or promotions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring that stock levels are adequate through effective stocking practices.
  • Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions accurately and assist with inventory management.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential.
  • Basic math skills are required for accurate transaction processing.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette when addressing customer inquiries.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as this can enhance customer interactions.
  • Experience in merchandising and product demos is a plus.
