*Description Of Work*
This position will provide direct services to the students who are ages 14 and above. These services will include employment planning, training selection, job shadowing, job placement, job seeking skills training, job coaching, and job follow-up services. This individual will know the employers in the communities and be able to communicate with them about the students as prospective employees.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Managing work experiences for young people with a disability
  • Job coaching by learning a job a consumer has been hired to do, teaching the consumer, making any adjustments needed

due to a disability or visual impairment for work task success.

  • Recommends environmental and/or job modifications, accommodations related to individual work tasks, using the latest and

most beneficial technology and will ensure client training in operation of technology.

  • Direct and regular contact with community and business leaders in developing work experience and job placementopportunities in assignment.
  • Coordinate with DSB staff, school personnel and individual family members.
  • Work directly and primarily with the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor – Transition assigned to the area.

Bachelor's degree in a human services or business field such as human resources, marketing, business administration, business management, healthcare management, or public administration from an appropriately accredited institution; or Associate's degree in a human services or business field (identified above) from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related work experience; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) and four years of directly related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
