Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Accountant to join our rapidly growing fintech company. As a Series B company, we are at a pivotal stage, expanding our operations, product offerings, and market reach. This role is critical in building out robust financial infrastructure, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing accurate financial reporting to support our continued growth and strategic decision-making. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for the daily accounting operations, and support the monthly accounting close process, and key projects and initiatives.

What you'll do

Accounting Operations & Systems:

  • Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including processing journal entries and preparing balance sheet reconciliation including but not limited to cash, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

  • Assist the Accounting manager to establish best practices in cash, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and timely posting in a highly automated environment

  • Optimize and automate accounting processes and systems to improve efficiency and scalability (e.g., daily cash management, estimating accruals, credit card expense management, prepaids and leases).

  • Assist with migration of an outsourced Accounting function to in-house Accounting.

  • Assist with GL migration from Quickbooks to NetSuite

Financial Reporting & Close:

  • Assist in monthly close process including journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analyses

  • Prepare and maintain supporting schedules for financials statements and audits

  • Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and Controller on internal control documentation and testing as the company matures toward public-company readiness.

  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, pulling data, and responding to audit requests.

  • Enhance existing close process by identifying opportunities to reduce close timeline

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • CPA license (or in testing process)

  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting (Big Four or mid-tier firm) or at a public company

  • Financial services or related industry experience

  • Experience operating under SOX controls environment

  • Analytical, problem-solving skills.

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Nice to have
  • Experience with CECL

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
