Summary
The Learning and Development Manager plays a critical role in enabling consultant success across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through long-term career progression. This role designs and delivers structured learning experiences that build core consulting capabilities, promote continuous development, and drive performance excellence. By defining competency models, managing certification and compliance requirements, and aligning development programs with internal standards and client expectations, the Learning and Development Manager ensures consultants are equipped to succeed in dynamic delivery environments.
In addition, this role serves as the Communications Lead and Change Manager for Consulting Services, driving clarity, consistency, and engagement around training initiatives, performance cycles, and organizational communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute structured, role-specific onboarding programs to accelerate consultant readiness and integration
- Define and maintain consulting role competencies and career paths in partnership with the Workforce team to support professional growth and performance alignment
- Oversee the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of internal training content across multiple formats and platforms
- Manage certification and compliance-based training, including client-mandated and industry-standard requirements
- Design, maintain, and govern a consulting skills inventory, including certifications and relevant training history
- Conduct learning needs assessments and evaluate the impact of training programs on consultant performance, engagement, and retention
- Lead the SkillBridge and Apprentice Programs, including curriculum development, performance tracking, and mentorship coordination
- Serve as the Communications Lead for Consulting Services, developing and distributing internal communications related to training, performance cycles, and organizational updates
- Partner with Consulting Services leadership, Client Engagement, and HR teams to ensure learning initiatives align with business objectives and consultant development needs
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and feedback by integrating coaching, peer learning, and performance insights into development programs
- Monitor and report on consultant development metrics, providing actionable insights to leadership on readiness, progression, and engagement
- Curate and recommend external learning resources (e.g., certifications, courses, thought leadership) to complement internal training and support individualized growth paths
- Facilitate leadership development initiatives for high-potential consultants, preparing them for expanded roles in client delivery and firm leadership
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, or talent development, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment
- Proven ability to design and implement onboarding, technical training, and career development programs that drive performance and engagement
- Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with experience managing internal communications across diverse audiences
- Strong analytical skills with experience evaluating learning outcomes and performance metrics to inform continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels
- Strong project management capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Strategic and collaborative mindset with the ability to align learning initiatives to business objectives and consultant career development goals
- Proven experience guiding teams through organizational change, particularly when introducing new learning programs or communication strategies
- Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), compliance tracking tools, and content development platforms
