Construction Accounting Specialist

We are looking for a skilled, reliable and detail-oriented Construction Accounting Specialist with strong QuickBooks, Procore and Payroll experience. The ideal candidate will be proactive and experienced in the construction industry and will manage daily financial activities, oversee payroll for employees and ensure accurate financial reporting in QuickBooks. This role is essential to ensuring accurate and timely financial tracking of all projects to stay on top of job costs, vendor payments, and overall financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for employees and subcontractors
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records in QuickBooks
  • Handle accounts payable/receivable and job cost tracking
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly using QuickBooks
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
  • Generate financial reports, including profit/loss statements, balance sheets, etc.
  • Assist with budgeting, job costing, and forecasting as needed
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and construction-specific financial requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience with construction-specific accounting systems
  • Proficient in QuickBooks
  • Experience with Procore is strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of payroll processes, tax filings, and labor compliance
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with other accounting tools is a plus
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
