Job Overview

The QuickBooks-Certified Accountant will manage daily accounting functions, maintain compliant financial records, and support reporting requirements for government-related programs. This role requires strong attention to detail, proven QuickBooks expertise, and an understanding of financial requirements in the government contracting or program management environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting tasks using QuickBooks Online
  • Record, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, project cost reports, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with budget tracking and financial forecasting
  • Prepare and support audit and compliance documentation for government programs
  • Maintain accurate charts of accounts and financial records
  • Support payroll processing and related reporting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable government financial regulations
  • Provide timely and accurate financial insights to management

Qualifications

  • QuickBooks Certification required (Online, Desktop, or both)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in bookkeeping or accounting (4+ years preferred)
  • Experience working with government contractors, program management firms, or federal/state/local agencies is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and analytical skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with government contract accounting
  • Experience with project cost tracking
  • Knowledge of payroll and tax processes
  • Exposure to additional accounting or ERP systems
