We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy Staff Accountant to join

our in-office accounting team at a growing aviation company. This role is ideal for a

proactive accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, embraces

technology, and has strong experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO), complex accounting

workflows, and inventory management.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in accounting, advanced Excel skills, and

the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy. A

strong focus on process improvement, adaptability to evolving systems, and the ability to

work across platforms and departments will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex accounting transactions, including intercompany allocations.
  • Act as the primary accounting contact for the maintenance department, ensuring accurate cost tracking.
  • Collaborate with customers and vendors to resolve billing inquiries, process payments, and apply deposits.
  • ENiciently navigate and utilize multiple software applications for accounting, reporting, and interdepartmental communication.
  • Support payroll processing and general accounting operations across multiple projects.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to compile and deliver financial data.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive financial information with integrity.
  • Manage multiple QuickBooks Online (QBO) company files with a high level of proficiency.
  • Continuously adapt to new systems, workflows, and priorities within a fast-growing aviation environment.
  • Experience or familiarity with general aviation or FBO (Fixed Base Operator) operations is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly and manage evolving priorities.
  • Strong understanding of accounting functions and processes.

Education & Experience

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Strong references required.
